Nodame Cantabile (DVD) (Vol. 3) (Taiwan Version)
The TV adaptation of Ninomiya Tomoko's manga Nodame Cantabile has become a big hit, even reviving the popularity of classical music in Japan. This wave now extends to animation, with the team behind Honey and Clover creating the anime version of the popular manga, dubbed by famous seiyu such as Seki Tomokazu and Kawasumi Ayako. The story follows top piano student Chiaki Shin'ichi who aspires to become a conductor. However, his travel phobia prevents him from acquiring greater exposure overseas, although he should have no problems in getting scholarships. While he feels his musical career is in stalemate, he meets Nodame, a girl from the same university. Though she is also a music genius, she is everything he is not - carefree, messy, chaotic. They may run into conflicts, but they also make perfect complements for each other!

Hong Kong's ATV pulled some good viewership numbers in 1991 with the martial arts drama The God of Sword, which features fierce swordplay, captivating drama, and surprising plot twists. Producer Chan Tai Yuen, who was behind the well-received ATV drama The Blood Sword 2, lined up two of the station's most popular young actors, Eric Wan and Lo Chung Wah, in the roles of the feuding brothers as Fei Yeung and Tin Sung respectively. Esther Kwan plays Chai Suet, and Shaw Brothers star Lo Lieh is perfectly cast as the "e;Lord of Saber"e;. Actresses Shirley Yim (a.k.a. Suet Lei), Candy Chiu, and Lau Kam Ling round out the main cast.

Ebola Syndrome
From the same people who unleashed The Untold Story on an unsuspecting world comes its worthy successor, Ebola Syndrome. Director Herman Yau and esteemed actor Anthony Wong teamed up in 1996 for another Category III exploitation gorefest that would surpass even the blood and blasphemy of their previous collaboration. Anthony Wong stars as Kai, a murderer who flees to South Africa where he works in a Chinese restaurant and, naturally, makes some pork buns. After raping a local woman, he contracts the deadly Ebola virus - only it doesn't kill him! Instead, he becomes a carrier of the disease and proceeds to deliberately spread the virus. After wiping out his employers and customers, he returns to Hong Kong where he goes on a gruesome killing spree, infecting anyone who has the misfortune of crossing his path. One of the most notorious titles on the Hong Kong cinema menu, Ebola Syndrome is also a bonafide cult classic - just keep your vomit bag handy.

Gun & Rose
