Akira Kurosawa's Dreams
A unique title in Kurosawa Akira's unparalleled filmography, his 1990 work Yume (a.k.a. Akira Kurosawa's Dreams) consists of eight dream sequences based on the director's actual dreams at different points in his life. The sky turns bloody red after a nuclear power plant meltdown, and five people stay behind as everyone flees for the ocean. A man encounters a demon-like man while drifting in a wasted post-apocalyptic land. A young traveler comes to a quiet, idyllic village where the people have decided to return to simpler times to reverse the damage caused by modern technology. After skipping out on 2008, SM Entertainment's popular SM Town compilation series returns in 2009 with 09 Summer SM Town. Though it arrives amid controversy, 09 Summer SM Town gives fans plenty to be excited about. There are only four tracks this time, but they're delivered by Dong Bang Shin Ki, Super Junior, and SHINee! The three super boy bands team up for the bright and breezy summer number "e;Seaside Stopover (Boom Boom)"e;. The idol-powered mini-album continues with three more new summer songs, one from each group. Dong Bang Shin Ki offer "e;12:34 (Nothing Better)"e;, Super Junior keep things cheery with Carnival, and SHINee make their SM Town debut with SCAR.
