Hong Kong Cinema legend Sammo Hung's 1983 ensemble action comedy Winners and Sinners was such a huge blockbuster it spawned several sequels in a (Five) Lucky Stars series. In this first film, the Five Lucky Stars are "e;Teapot"e; (Sammo Hung), "e;Exhaust Pipe"e; (Richard Ng), "e;Vaseline"e; (Charlie Chin), "e;Curly"e; (John Shum), and "e;Rookie"e; (Stanley Fung), with guest stars Jackie Chan, Cherie Chung, Yuen Biao, Pat Ha, Lam Ching Ying, and Cecilia Yip in supporting roles. The five friends are released from jail after serving time for different petty crimes. They decide to go straight and together they set up the Lucky Stars cleaning company. Somehow they get entangled in a war between two gangs over some counterfeit money printing plates, and with the cops also after them, many stunning stunts and hilarious antics ensue. The film won Best Action Choreography and was nominated for Best Actor (for Richard Ng) at the 3rd Hong Kong Film Awards.
