The Brave Archer 2
The Brave Archer 2, directed by the legendary Cheng Cheh, is the second film based on Jin Yong s classic martial arts novel The Eagle-Shooting Heroes, of which Wong Kar Wai s Ashes of Time is loosely based on. This particular version used the material written by Jin Yong s good friend and fellow novelist Ni Kuang while Jin was away, back when the story was published as a newspaper serial. Starring Alexander Fu Sheng stars as hero Guo Jing and Tanny Tian as Huang Rong, as Huang is about to be married to Ouyang Fung (Danny Lee) by her father, Guo has to do everything in his power to stop the planned wedding. With old feuds and new allies, this is one of the most beloved stories written by Jin Yong and considered one of the most important in Chinese modern literature. Alexander Fu, who was a rising star and beloved actor of Cheng at the time, was tragically killed in a car crash aged 29, and this film captured his amazing star quality before his untimely death.

A Simple Noodle Story (DVD) (Hong Kong Version)
After directing the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Zhang Yimou returns to filmmaking with this remake of the Coen Brothers' Blood Simple. Instead of a direct remake, Zhang transports the film back in time to a remote town in the middle of a desert in China. He also puts together an unusual cast featuring emerging comedy star Xiao Shenyang, Yan Ni (Cow), and a brilliantly deadpan Sun Honglei (Forever Enthralled). The result is a visually arresting dark comedy that effortlessly moves between over-the-top Chinese humor and suspenseful moments that put millions of Chinese audiences at the edge of their seats. Wang (Ni Dahong) runs an isolated noodle shop in the middle of the desert. His wife (Yan Ni) is miserable in her marriage, and she has turned to having an affair with restaurant employee Li (Xiao Shenyang). Looking for a way to get out of her marriage, she buys a gun from a traveling merchant. However, the two lovers have no idea that Wang has been suspecting them all along. One day, he hires corrupt policeman Zhang (Sun Honglei) to investigate, though the policeman does so with his own motives. Meanwhile, two other disgruntled employees of the restaurant Zhao Liu and Chen Qi are planning to get their unpaid wages from Wang, but they unwittingly put themselves in the middle of the messy situation between their boss, his wife, and her gun.

Echoes Of The Rainbow (DVD) (Special Edition) (Hong Kong Version)
Awarded the Crystal Bear for Best Film by the Generation Kplus Children's Jury of the Generations competition at the Berlin Film Festival, as well as the winner of four awards at the Hong Kong Film Awards, writer-director Alex Law's Echoes of the Rainbow was one of Hong Kong's biggest sleeper hits of 2010. Produced by director Mabel Cheung (An Autumn's Tale), Echoes of the Rainbow is Law's semi-autobiographical look at his childhood during 1960s Hong Kong. With a detailed eye for life of the period and an inspiring story about a resilient family in tough times, the heartwarming nostalgia drama attracted Hong Kong audiences to the cinemas in droves. After an extended run in Hong Kong cinemas, the film grossed an impressive HK$23 million at the box office, even outgrossing major blockbusters Bodyguards and Assassins and 14 Blades. The film proved to be so popular with local audiences that its shooting location in Hong Kong was spared government redevelopment after calls by the filmmakers to save it. Told through the eyes of sticky-fingered eight-year-old boy Big Ears (Buzz Chung), Echoes of the Rainbow takes place in a close-knit grassroots community in 1960s Hong Kong. Big Ears' mother and father (Sandra Ng and Simon Yam, in an award-winning performance) run the neighborhood shoe store, and his older brother Desmond (pop singer and HKFA Best New Artist winner Aarif Lee) is every family's dream son - an outstanding athlete with gra

Mommie Dearest (Hollywood Royalty Edition) (US Version)
Based on the book by her adopted daughter Christina, MOMMIE DEAREST is the now-legendary tale of Hollywood superstar Joan Crawford (Faye Dunaway) and the lengths that she went to in order to maintain her public image. After several screen successes, Crawford's plan to stay on top in Tinseltown includes adopting two children, Christina and Christopher, whom she plans on spoiling with love and gifts. As her career flags and her lack of success in her relationships with men chip away at her constitution, Crawford's treatment of her children becomes more and more brutal. Though this domestic horror tale is so over-the-top it that it is often celebrated as high camp, Dunaway's performance remains nothing short of astounding. EXTE (DVD) (English Subtitled) (Hong Kong Version)
Sono Sion, the cult director of Suicide Club and Noriko's Dinner Table, continues to thrill and chill with his latest film EXTE (a.k.a. Ekusute - Hair Extensions). The female long-haired spectre is of course a Japanese horror staple, and Sono takes it one step further by placing the dreaded locks at the center of this spine-tingling film. Appropriately enough, EXTE stars Kuriyama Chiaki (Kill Bill, Battle Royale) who is known for her long straight hair, alongside veteran character actor Osugi Ren. Given its theme, the film could easily be mistaken as just stock J-horror fare, but in his past works, Sono has shown himself to be anything but conventional, and EXTE is no exception. The director leaves his mark clearly with eccentric characterization, unpredictable storytelling, and a creepy meditation on hair that is both beautiful and horrific. EXTE begins in bloody, unsettling fashion with the discovery of the body of a young girl whose organs have been harvested and head shaven. The corpse ends up in the hands of morgue watchman and hair fetishist Yamazaki (Osugi Ren), who excitedly discovers that the girl's hair is still growing. He uses her long and silky hair to make extensions, which he sells to customers who invariably turn up dead, strangled by their own hair. When Yamazaki meets flighty aspiring hairstylist Yuko (Kuriyama Chiaki), he immediately becomes mesmerized by her beautiful hair, and presents her wi
